The two bar charts compare the average distance travelled by male and female slugs across four trials in two separate experimental batches.
Overall, female slugs generally travelled farther than males in both batches, although the pattern was more variable in Batch A. Batch B showed a more stable trend, with relatively consistent distances recorded across trials for both genders.
In Batch A, male slugs exhibited considerable fluctuation in movement. After a moderate distance in the first trial, their performance increased in the second trial, dropped sharply in the third, and then peaked in the final trial. Female slugs, by contrast, travelled steadily in the first trial, reached their highest distance in the second, declined in the third, and then partially recovered in the final trial. Despite these variations, females outperformed males in most trials except the last one.
In Batch B, distances covered by male slugs increased from the first to the second trial and then remained largely unchanged before declining slightly at the end. Female slugs demonstrated remarkable consistency, travelling similar distances in three trials after a strong initial result. In this batch, females consistently exceeded males in every trial, indicating more uniform movement patterns.
